We hope that you are all safe and healthy. These have been challenging times for everyone on our planet and we know that you've all been impacted by this pandemic in one way or another. Just like you, we are facing many unanswered questions about what the future holds as well as how travel will be affected in the months and years that follow. What we do know, though, is that when all of this is over, we will still be there for you. We are making every preparation possible to be ready to help you explore the world again.
I do hold faith in the world opening up again though. The timeline is uncertain, but we will get there. And today’s disconnected reality serves as a reminder for us to stay true to BikeHike's mission, connecting the world through active travel. On the other side of this, when the world's health returns, connecting will be more important than ever.
One thing that the Coronavirus has already personally taught us is just how much we personally value connection in our lives. This has become so clear, now that it has been so rapidly stripped away from the fabric of our daily lives. We are de-socializing our lives and the world is becoming disconnected, in ways we never could have imagined. If you are like us, you want to be out there again, connecting even more, once this situation has settled down.
Another point to note is that we have amended how we are managing bookings during these times of uncertainty. We have amended our terms and conditions to provide you with more flexibility and peace of mind when booking a future trip.
For our scheduled departures, you can now:
- Transfer over your $500 deposit 45 days before the trip to a new date /destination with no penalties or expiry date. Our normal terms and conditions will apply for trip bookings or changes within 45 days of departure.
- Make final payment as late as 45 days prior to trip departure, rather than 75 days.
As this situation is fluid, we may further amend our policies going forward and will post any updates here.
We are truly hopeful that our scheduled adventures for 2021 will resume as planned. We will continue to monitor the global situation as well as that in each one of our destinations. Your safety, well-being and travel comfort is of utmost importance to us. If impactful travel restrictions are in place or quality of health in a destination is compromised, we will not run those tours affected. As we monitor the situation closely, we remain here if you have any questions or just want to chat. In the meantime, we are also hard at work in the office fine tuning our current itineraries and putting together some new trips closer to home for you.
Rest assured that amid all this uncertainty, the one thing we know for sure is that we will get through this. For you. Being there for you in the long run, to inspire you again and to connect you back to the world through your next amazing adventure, is our driving focus. So, we look forward to helping you celebrate travel again, to celebrate life and connection again. We’re fairly sure your next trip will be remembered as a trip of a lifetime, for so many reasons, and we can’t wait to help you with that.
We truly thank you for your ongoing trust and support.
From the BikeHike family to yours, stay healthy and well.

And here's a reminder of where in the world it all began for us, where our spirit of adventure began. This video always makes us smile, and reminds us why we do what we do, just as it reminds us why we'll steer through this Coronavirus situation. In the end, nothing can ever infect, or take away, our spirit of adventure.
